# Applying coupons

Coupons can be applied at either the customer or subscription level to provide percentage or fixed discounts.

### To customers

To apply a coupon to a customer:

1. Open the left navigation pane.
2. Select **Customers** under **Managing Customers and Subscriptions**.
3. Choose a customer from the list.
4. Click **Apply coupon** and select the desired coupon.

Applying coupons to customers grants them a discount on **all** of their subscriptions.

### To subscriptions

To apply a coupon to a subscription:

1. Open the left navigation pane.
2. Select **Subscriptions** under **Managing Customers and Subscriptions**.
3. Choose the relevant subscription.
4. Click **Apply coupon** and select the coupon to be applied.

Applying coupons to subscriptions grants a discount only to that specific subscription.
