# Managing the legal entity

The legal entity is the billing identity used on invoices generated from a contract; it's selected or created during [billing contract set up](./setup-flow#billing-settings).

A legal entity has two sets of details:

**Public information** (appears on the invoice itself):

* Logo
* Entity name and legal name
* Registration number (EIN / VAT ID)
* Address (country, city, zip, full address)
* Contact email and phone number

**Billing details** (the vendor's bank account information, included on invoices so the customer knows where to send payment):

* Bank name and bank code
* Account number, branch number, and account name
* Bank address
* Routing / ABA number

A legal entity can have more than one bank account configured, with one marked as **Default**.

Once created, a legal entity can be reused and selected across multiple contracts.

Stigg also supports creating more than one legal entity, so a vendor can bill from different entities depending on need (for example, a US entity and an EU entity).
